January 2026: Environmental Writers Retreat in Montreal

Two of the anthology’s editors—Lise Weil and Anne Bergeron—will be offering workshops. Lise will meet with you one-on-one during the week to read and discuss your work. Her hope for the writers on this retreat is that, like the writers in Dark Matter, they will discover that facing in to the horrors of this moment can lead to writing that reverberates with both truth and possibility. Also included in the retreat are conversations with celebrated Canadian poet Sarah Wolfson and novelist Ian Thomas Shaw.
You can find details here for writers from outside Montreal area (includes accommodations); and here for writers living in Montreal but attending during the day.
Launch Event for Issue 18

On Sunday, January 4 at 7PM ET, inspired by the popularity of the nine events we held to celebrate publication of our anthology, we will be hosting a launch event for Issue 18 with readings by most of the contributors, followed by community discussion.
